MR. IDIKA, NDUKWE
Former Deputy Provost, FCE(T), Asaba.
Ndukwe Idika was born in 1958 at Ndi Ibe Ohafia, Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State. He started his education journey in 1964 at the Roman Catholic Mission Primary School, Ovonum, Adun in present Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State where the parents were residing. The out break of the Nigerian civil war forced little Ndukwe home with his parents to continue his educational pursuit in Ambele Primary School, Ohafia where he finished with Distinction in the First School Leaving Certificate Examination in 1971. He joined Boys’ Secondary School, Asaga Ohafia in 1972 where he enrolled for and passed the West African School Certificate Examination in Division two. The next year, Ndukwe entered the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu and graduated with the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) in 1980. He served the nation in the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) at Afuze Technical College, Afuze in the former Bendel State in 1980/1981.

After graduation from IMT, Enugu, Ndukwe worked as a Technical Teacher in Ibere Technical College, Ikwuano. While teaching in this College, he up-graded his educational qualification to Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technical Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He was later transferred to Ohuhu Community Secondary School, Amaogwugwu, Umuahia. Thereafter, he secured employment with Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba, Delta State as Lecturer 111 and also enhanced his academic qualifications to Masters in Industrial Technical Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

At Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba, Ndukwe rose through the ranks to the position of Chief Lecturer. He has held several positions in the College including but not limited to Head, Department of Building Technology, Dean, School of Technical Education, Co-ordinator, Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme Director, Quality Assurance and now the Deputy Provost. He has also served as Chairman or member of several committees in the College. He has been a 2-term member of the Governing Council of the College representing the Academic Board. He has many academic publications to his credit and belongs to several professional associations.
