DEACONESS DR.(Mrs.) JOSEPHINE EMEBIZIOGO ANENE-OKEAKWA

 Dr (Mrs.) Josephine Emebiziogo Anene-Okeakwa had other contributions to the Society and for National Development.  She was a member, Committee for counting offering money, St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish West-End Asaba (1993 – 2000); Member, Board of Trustee, Better Life for African Women Delta State Chapter (2004).  Facilitator to a 6-day capacity Workshop for people living with HIV and AIDS (PLWHAS) on practical Food Demonstration and Backyard Farming for Delta State Central Senatorial District (2008); Ward five (5) collation officer, Oshimili South Local Government Area in April 2011 Election Exercise (2011); Returning Officer for House of Representatives in the just concluded 2019 election (April, 2019); Chairperson, Faith Academic Governing Council-Living Faith Church (Winners) Asaba,  Chairperson Asaba Development Union World Wide Palliative Project (Food Bank) during the Covid19 Pandemic among others.

Dr (Mrs.) Josephine Emebiziogo Anene-Okeakwa is an excellent scholar and academician. She has published over 50 Journal articles both nationally and internationally.  She has 6 chapter contributions.  She edited a book on entrepreneurship, revised a book and has written 2 standard textbooks. She has over 58 papers presented at conferences, seminars and workshops and has attended over 60 conferences, seminars and workshops.

Dr (Mrs.) Josephine Emebiziogo Anene-Okeakwa bagged many awards including the Best Graduating student from the school of Vocational Education, Bendel State University, Abraka Campus (1998).  She is a member of many professional bodies and learned Society groups, which include, member, TRCN, member, Home Economics Research Association of Nigeria (HERAN), Nigerian Vocational Association, Association for Women in Colleges of Education among others.

This erudite scholar loves reading, travelling, cooking, researching among others.  She was married to late Anthony Anene-Okeakwa with six children.

Deaconess Dr (Mrs.) Josephine Emebiziogo Anene-Okeakwa attended Abu-ato Primary School from 1968 – 1975, she attended Asaba Girls’ Grammar School from 1975 to 1981 for her Secondary Education.  She enrolled into the Abraka College of Education, Abraka which later became a Campus of the Bendel State University Abraka Campus, where she got Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) in Home Economics Education in 1988. 

She later went back to the same institution and bagged her BSc (Ed.) in Home Economics Education in 1990.  She did her Youth Service in Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba where she was retained as a lecturer in 1991.  Her quest for knowledge and excellence took her to the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka where she obtained a Masters Degree in Home Economics Education in 1999 and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Home Economics in 2016.

Deaconess Dr (Mrs.) Josephine Emebiziogo Anene-Okeakwa has held so many positions as a lecturer at Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba. 

She established the Department of Home Economics Education, Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba in 1990 and taught all the courses for the session.  She became the overseer Home Economics Education (1992 -1993).  She became the Acting Head of Department of Home Economics Education (1993 -1997); she is a member of Academic Board (1993 – Date), Treasurer, College of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba Chapter from (1994 -1997).  Hostel Warden for Hostel D, (1993 – 1997), she is a member of School Board of Studies of Vocational Education, (1993 – Date).  Member, Consultancy and Applied Research Committee (1995 – 1996); Member College Security Committee (1995 – 1996); Member Examination Malpractice Committee 1993 – 1996); Established the Staff Demonstration Nursery and Primary School (1995).  Coordinator, Staff Demonstration Nursery/Primary Schools (1997 – 2003); Member Committee on Revised Minimum Standard (1997); Secretary Nursery/Primary Schools Committee (1999 -2001); Member, Convocation Committee (1999 – 2004); Member, Demonstration Secondary, Primary and Nursery Schools Management Committee (2001 – 2009); Member, Conference Planning Committee (2007 – 2009).  External Examiner, Department of Home Economics, College of Education Warri (2008 – 2013); Member, Committee on Family Life and Emerging Health Issues (2008 – 2010); Member, Central Examination Committee (2008 – 2010); Chairman to assess the promotion of Mrs. F.N.
